Our Criteria Standards have been put in place in an effort to reach our Goals and to better serve you as a resident of East Bay Transitional Housing. We hope you find the questions & answers helpful in determining placement. 

 
Do I need a sponsor while residing at EBTH?
 
Will I have to continue substance meetings and programs while residing at EBTH?

Do I need a sponsor while residing at EBTH?

Every resident must get a sponsor or temporary sponsor within 48 hours of intake.
Will I have to continue substance meetings and programs while residing at EBTH?

Every resident must attend NA and AA 12-step outside meetings daily to promote recovery. Every resident must be willing to work a 12-step program under the direction of an outside counselor or an active sponsor.
If I relapse, what will happen with my residency at EBTH?

Every resident at EBTH must maintain a clean and sober lifestyle from any mind-altering chemicals or alcohol. Parole officers will be notified immediately when relapsing. Residents referral or treatment program will be notified immediately. Residents must have 72 hours sobriety before returning of first relapse. A second relapse will be referred back to the treatment program for long-term treatment. Resident will be discharged to a safe house, such as a sponsor or a clean and sober friend/relative. If necessary, residents will be charged $45.00 for instant urine test and $15.00 for breath test, if unable to get to referral program for testing.

Must be willing to commit to a minimum of 30 days. 60 to 90 days is recommended.
Does EBTH work only on a referral basis, or are walk-ins accepted?

I had to follow a care plan at the treatment center. Will I have to follow a care plan at EBTH?

Every resident must follow a care plan from the treatment center. If one is not in place, the Director and/or sponsor will work one up.
Do I need to be employed while residing at EBTH?

Every resident must be employed or have a source of income available to pay all fees on time. If not employed when entering EBTH, residents must complete a job search on a daily basis.
What level of drinking or drug use do I have to be at to reside at EBTH?

When entering EBTH, every resident must be documented as an alcoholic or addict. (No dry drunks or denial).This will be confirmed by the treatment center.
Can I have visitors?

Visitors will be allowed on Saturdays, during posted times. Any visitor suspected of alcohol or drug use will be asked to leave premises. Visitors are to remain in the community living area. Visitors are not allowed in bedrooms. Visitors are not allowed to use resident's appliances. Visitors with out-of-control children will be asked to leave due to insurance liability. No visitin in cars or in off-limit areas.
